STIR/SHAKEN – In a Nutshell

Trust in the numbers calling you needs to be re-established, thats where STIR (Secure Telephone Identity Revisited) / SHAKEN (Secure Handling of Asserted Information Using Tokens). In short, this means carriers using this technology use cryptography to sign and verify inbound/outbound calls.

An alarming amount of calls are abuse, robocalls, and spoofed numbers. In fact, it’s the top consumer complaint to the FCC. The entire industry is looking to stop the abuse with the adoption of STIR/SHAKEN.
